Ukhrul, September 19: The Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC) has strongly condemned what it described as the “provocative high-handedness” of Kuki refugee militants, stating that their actions have crossed all limits of tolerance.
In a statement issued on Friday, the FNCC alleged that despite repeated appeals to the authorities to address the “menace of Kuki refugee carnage,” their pleas have gone unheard. Instead, it claimed, the government of Manipur and its security agencies have “willfully allowed Kuki refugees to operate illegally and openly with arms, even along the National Highways.”

According to the committee, this negligence led to another violent incident on September 17, when an innocent Tangkhul Naga auto driver, Kingson Kashung of Chingshou village in Kamjong District, was attacked near the Presidency College Gate at Motbung by a Kuki National Army (KNA) militant.
The FNCC condemned the assault as an act of “orchestrated and unprovoked aggression” and demanded immediate action against those responsible. It further expressed full endorsement of the ultimatum served by the Makhan-Kanglatongbi Naga Forum, which seeks justice for the victim within 72 hours.
The committee warned that if the Kuki refugee militants fail to clarify their position within the stipulated time, “they must be prepared to face the consequences.”
