Federation of Haomee (FOH) has issued statement that they will impose indefinite bandh along Imphal – Ukhrul road from September 21, demanding improvement in working conditions of Ukhrul district hospital and fill the vacant seats of doctors and nurses and other shortfalls in by September 20.
The demand included Medical Specialist, Surgeons, Anaesthetist, and an Orthopaedics, Qnesthesiologist, Sonologists, Blood Bank.

FOH said, “Simply constructing a building without installing the required equipments and infrastructures does not make it a hospital”. As per the press release Medical services, Media, Water Supply and Electricity related activities are exempted from the purview of the proposed bandh.
Ukhrul saw similar protest from the Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (Tangkhul Youth Council), on Saturday for the negligence of the state government on Public Health Care System, demanding on shortage of doctors, nurses, medical equipment and facilities resulting in nonfunctional degrading public healthcare in Ukhrul.
