Former MLA, senior journalist, Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh die of COVID-19

Former Manipur MLA Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh and senior journalist  Sagolsem Hemanta were among the people who died due to COVID-19 related complications in Manipur on Sunday.

Official sources said that former MLA Wangkheimayum Brajabidhu Singh breathed his last at Shija hospital, Imphal on Sunday morning.

The former MLA represented Lamsang assembly constituency of Imphal West district for three consecutive terms since 2002. He had won the elections on a Congress ticket.

He was admitted at Advanced Hospital, Imphal earlier after tested positive for COVID-19 but shifted to Shija hospital two days ago after his health condition deteriorated, reports said.

Meanwhile, the Manipur Ex-MLA Welfare Association condoled the untimely demise of its member while sharing the shocks and pains suffered by the family of the former legislator.
Also, Sagolsem Hemanta, a senior journalist and former president of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) died in the wee hours of Sunday.
