Four deaths in 24 hrs pushes COVID tally to 164: Manipur cross 18,000 mark

The number of COVID-19 fatalities has reached 164 with the deaths of four more persons in a span of 24 hours. The positive cases of the COVID-19 also rose to 18,272 as 221 fresh cases were reported on Friday.

As per a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the state government, out of the four died in the last 24 hours, three were females aged 42, 60 and 53 years.

Of the 221 fresh cases confirmed during testing of 2,334 samples, 14 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). 

During the same period, 222 patients were discharged after recovering from the deadly disease, pushing the recovery tally to 13,805. State’s recovery rate stood at 75.55%, according to the release. 
Of the total 18,272 positive cases, 4,303 including 304 CAPF personnel are active cases currently under medical care. 

Currently, there are 634 COVID-19 infected persons on home isolations after 1,084 were discharged after they were found free from the virus during latest tests.
