UKHRUL: Sanitation workers of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) have stopped work since Thursday, protesting three months of unpaid salaries and pending Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) contributions.

DMC’s proposal to release one month’s salary immediately and another by December 20 was rejected, with workers demanding full payment.

As reported by the Eastern Mirror, the strike continued with Dimapur waking up on Friday (December 12) to garbage piling up across town amid the festive shopping rush.
