Governor La Ganesan Awards Assam Rifles Personnel with Gold and Silver Medals

Kohima: Nagaland’s Governor, La Ganesan, presided over an impressive Investiture Ceremony today at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, where he presented the Governor’s Gold Medals and Silver Medals to personnel of the Assam Rifles. The event recognized their outstanding service, leadership, and bravery.

During the ceremony, 10 individuals were honored with the Governor’s Gold Medal, while 14 received the Governor’s Silver Medal, in recognition of their exemplary leadership, courage, and dedication to duty. Additionally, the 7th Assam Rifles Battalion and the 45th Assam Rifles Battalion were awarded the prestigious Governor’s Unit Appreciation for their exceptional operational performance.

In his address, the Governor expressed pride and joy, stating that the ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also paid tribute to the collective spirit of service embodied by the Assam Rifles. He emphasized their bravery, dedication, and commitment, underscoring their essential role in ensuring security and development in the region.

“As the Governor of this beautiful state, I have always been inspired by the exemplary service rendered by the Assam Rifles,” Governor Ganesan remarked. “Their role extends beyond safeguarding our borders; they are vital pillars of our community, acting as peacekeepers and facilitators of development in remote areas. Their presence has ensured not only security but also stability, which is crucial for progress in our region.”

He also lauded the award recipients, stating that their contributions serve as a beacon of hope and motivation for future generations. “As we reflect on the significance of their contributions, let us recognize the values of hard work, integrity, and excellence that their achievements embody,” the Governor said, adding that their stories of bravery would resonate for generations to come.

Governor Ganesan extended his congratulations to the awardees, noting that their exemplary actions have set a benchmark for excellence, not only within the armed forces but for the entire nation. He also acknowledged the Assam Rifles Battalions that excelled in their duties, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and cooperation between the armed forces, district administration, and the public in maintaining peace and security.

He further highlighted that the Assam Rifles have long been ambassadors of peace and goodwill, serving as a bridge between communities and the military, playing a crucial role in fostering harmony and progress in the region.
