Governor La Ganesan Visits Gopinath Mandir and Keibul Lamjao National Park

The governor of Manipur La. Ganesan today visited Gopinath Mandir at Ningthoukhong and Keibul Lamjao National Park. He also interacted with District Level Officers, families of Freedom Fighters and representatives of Civil Society Organisations at Keibul Lamjao National Park, Bishnupur district.

Speaking at the function, governor La Ganesan said that after assuming office as the governor, he had made plan to visit all the district of the state in order to know the cultures and traditions of the area. He made an appeal to all section of the society to get vaccinated which is the best way to defeat pandemic and make COVID free.

Governor further stated that godliness is next to cleanliness and it is the most important. His visit today is to stress one point only and his main insistence is the matter of cleanliness and hygiene in Manipur. These will bring a great opportunity to the state and would enhance in economic status by improving tourism as well. Cleanliness will keep everyone happy and healthy in all respect physically, mentally, socially and intellectually by reducing the chance of diseases and fully confident that all the district level officers will enable the whole district clean and green.

In an interaction with the governor, some DLOs highlighted shortages of staff which has hampered in the smooth functioning of the office. Families of Freedom Fighters and representatives of CSOs also urged the governor to address their grievances.

As part of the function, Hanjabam Bobby Sharma, Additional DC, Bishnupur presented various activities and achievements of different department by power point.

Earlier, the governor also paid a visit to Gopinath Mandir at Ningthoukhong. Today’s function was organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur.
