Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla Reviews Manipur Security; Calls for Enhanced Coordination

Ukhrul, Jan 4: The recently sworn-in 17th Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, chaired a high-level security meeting at Raj Bhavan, Imphal on Saturday. The meeting reviewed the overall security situation in the state, focusing on law and order and border security. The Governor urged state DGP Rajiv Singh to prioritize public safety and called on the Army and paramilitary forces to cooperate fully in maintaining law and order.

Present at the meeting were Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, DGP Rajiv Singh, IGAR (South) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh, and senior officials from CRPF and BSF. Discussions included the deployment of security forces across the state and key updates on border management.

Notably, following his swearing-in on Friday, Governor Bhalla met with Lieutenant General Abhijit Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Corps. The GOC, accompanied by senior military officers, provided a comprehensive update on the deployment of security forces and the current security challenges.
