Ukhrul, May 19: The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, visited Ukhrul on Monday to inspect the ongoing preparations at Bakshi Ground, the venue for ShiRock.

During his maiden visit to the district, the Governor received a warm welcome at Nungbi Khullen by Khashim Vashum, MLA of the 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency, Preshow Ex Deputy Speaker, along with with villagers of Nungbi Khullen and headmen from the Raphei region.

The Governor later proceeded to Longpi Kajui, where he visited a traditional pottery workshop, engaging with local artisans and observing the craft firsthand.

It is learnt that the Governor is scheduled to trek to Shirui Peak early Tuesday morning and will officially inaugurate the 5th edition of the Shirui Lily Festival 2025.
