Govt announces Inter-School transfer of students in conflict hit Manipur

Imphal, June 9: Education (Schools), Government of Manipur has approved inter-school transfer of students, that is from Class 11 to 12 and class 12 to 12 without any fees.

Press note from Secretary of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, COHSEM Ch. Biren informed that educational institutions under COHSEM can declare the results for Class 11 Examination, 2023 without any prior permission from COHSEM.

The press note also said, the decision was taken in a meeting of the Council’s Examination Committee as a “One Time Measure” in view of the prevailing tense situation in Manipur. The educational institutions affiliated to COHSEM however, need to submit tabulation sheets for Class 11 examination at the specific dateline set by the council.

Press note from Education (Schools) Manipur Director L. Nandakumar also informed that Manipur government will provide free of cost admission to displaced students affected by the prevailing violence in Manipur who are taking refuge at various relief camps, to nearby government schools or any other feasible government schools of their choice.

ZEO concerned will identify one nodal officer each in the relief camps to facilitate admission of students. Permission for transfer from Board of Secondary Education Manipur or Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur will not be required and there will be no fee charged for registration updation with BOSEM/COHSEM, the press note added.
