Gunman Loots Large Sum of Cash from UCO Bank, Kakching Branch

IMPHAL, OCT 16: In a broad daylight robbery in Manipur, an unidentified gunman looted a huge amount of money from the Kakching branch of UCO Bank, located at Kakching Khongnang Mariphangba in Kakching district on Wednesday, which is located 45 km south east of Imphal.

According to reports from Kakching, a lone gunman, whose face was concealed behind a mask, entered the bank around 3 pm and took more than Rs 6 lakh after threatening the staff at gunpoint before escaping with the cash.

Authorities have yet to release official details, but reports said that an investigation is underway.

A team of Manipur Police, led by DIG Range-II Jogeshchandra Haobijam and SP Kakching Th Vikramjit, swiftly responded to the scene and initiated a probe into the bank robbery.

It is also said that the police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements related to the robbery.
