UKHRUL, NOVEMBER 20: Hill Areas Committee (HAC) chairman and Nungba AC MLA Dinganglung Gangmei, has sought the intervention of the Manipur Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, regarding the allocation of work orders to contractors who have bided well below estimate.
In a letter to the Governor, the HAC chairman stated that the work programmes under DA-3GUA, 2025-26 under TA & Hills, Government of Manipur which are to be implemented in tribal hill areas are on the verge of awarding work orders to contractors who have bided well below estimate even to an extent of — 30 (Minus 30).

Terming it a “broad daylight robbery” and complete disregard for the quality of works and practical ground reality, the HAC chairman alleged that most of the works in the hill districts are compromised because of such unscrupulous nexus between officials and contractors in the name of fulfilling technical norms or guidelines.
The HAC chairman urged the Governor to look into the matter and take appropriate action accordingly.
