Union Home Minister Amit Shah Reviews Manipur Law and Order Situation

IMPHAL: Union Home Minister Amit Shah discussed the Manipur law and order situation with Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at Parliament House complex in New Delhi at around 11.30 am today, a statement from the Chief Minister’s office said this evening.

Khemchand Singh rushed to New Delhi on Tuesday evening for a meeting with the Union Home Minister, the statement also said.

The Union Home Minister reviewed the prevailing security scenario in Manipur with the Chief Minister. He also directed the Chief Minister to accelerate the present peace process and consolidate the growing bonhomie among different communities, the statement further informed.

Shah also in principle agreed to the raising of one Mahila India Reserve Battalion (IRB) for Manipur and asked the Chief Minister to send the proposal, the statement added.
