Ukhrul Pays Tribute to Four Fallen Naga Army

UKHRUL: A condolence service programme was held on the afternoon of April 1, 2026, at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground in honour of four fallen Naga Army personnel, Major (Posthumous) Sochipem Phungshok, Sergeant Major (Posthumous) Zairay Vasah, Sergeant (Posthumous) Bahnle Ahlahpya, and Sergeant (Posthumous) Thansomi Washi.

Organised by Tangkhul Naga Long, the apex body of the Tangkhul Naga tribe in Manipur and Tangkhul (Longnao) frontal organisations, the programme began with a silent prayer led by Rev. Zaklei Kaping of Phungyo Baptist Church, followed by traditional rites and presentations by community representatives.

Condolence messages were delivered by leaders of various civil society organisations, including the presidents of TMNL, TKS, TSL, TNAL (Awunga), TNL, along with families of the fallen Naga Army personnel and representatives from the Eastern Flank.
