Ukhrul, October 29: The Yaruiwo (President) of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), Q. Tuccu, has announced the promotion of Major General Honreishang Shadang to the rank of Lieutenant General and his appointment as the new Longvibu (Commander-in-Chief) of the Naga Army.

According to the official order issued on Wednesday, Lt. Gen. Shadang succeeds General Anthony Ningkhan Shimray, who will retire on November 29, 2025. The new Longvibu will assume office on the same day.

The promotion and appointment were made under the Naga Army Rules and Regulations, recognising Shadang’s “loyalty, faithfulness, sincerity and efficiency in the service of the Naga nation.”

The order further stated that the transition is made in line with the Yehzabo, the guiding principles of the GPRN, to ensure continuity in leadership and smooth functioning of the Naga Army.
