Hubert Lunghar Elected Unopposed as 33rd President of THYSO for 2023-25 Term

Ukhrul: In a unanimous election held at Ilongshim, Hungpung on Friday, 29-year-old Hubert Lunghar has been elected as the 33rd president of Thawaijao Hungpung Young Students Organisation (THYSO) for the tenure 2023-25.

The 29-year old now succeeds Wungreingam Risom as the new President of THYSO, a prominent youth organization in Ukhrul established in 1957.

Hubert Lunghar, formerly the Secretary of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) from 2019-2023, holds an MA in Rural Development from Manipur University and a BA in English Honours from Salesian College, Darjeeling.

In an interview with our correspondent, Hubert Lunghar expressed his commitment to empower and uplift the youth while focusing on the prevention of substance abuse during his tenure as THYSO President.
