Hungpung organizes first season of Hungpung Yarsho league

Ukhrul, Jan 22: The first season of Hungung Yarsho league, a one day six-men aside football tournament was held at Phungei, Vashimtang, Hungpung Turf on Saturday, hosted by social worker Rinthem Mahung and Yarsho society.

The one day league saw a total participation of 10 teams from Hungphung, under the theme “Say no to drugs”. The tournament aims “to build bonds between the communities which will impact the growth of today’s youths, encouraging youths to prioritize their health and stay away from drugs”.

Haokok FC A and Haokok FC B, same club, divided into two teams were the finalists with Haokok FC A coming out on top as the champion, leading the victory with a win of 7-5 against Haokok FC B.

The tournament also featured a friendly Women’s exhibition match between upper Hungpung and lower Hungpung. The exhibition match was sponsored by Remember Khapai. Proprietor, messenger sound system Ukhrul.
