Shillong: IIM Shillong alumni gathered to launch ‘Melange 2022’, a two-day alumni reunion event that took place from Saturday, August 20th to Sunday, August 21st, 2022.

The Alumni committee successfully hosted the Alumni Meet, where alumni across batches gathered to celebrate and remember their time as students at IIM Shillong, as well as to honour long-lasting friendships. Many people recounted their entrepreneurial and corporate journeys, while basking in their occasional nostalgia.

IIM Shillong’s Alumni Relations Committee thanked Prof. DP Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong for enabling them to organise the event and for his ongoing support and direction in creating such a memorable evening.

Several alumni attended the event and shared their memories of their time at the college. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong believes in staying in touch with its students even after they graduate. While the institute in the past years held annual reunions in different cities for the alumni, this time IIM Shillong hosted the alumni meet at the institute’s old campus.

Professor DP Goyal, Director, IIM Shillong, cherished the nostalgic moment while welcoming the alumni. He stated that students are the heart of the institute and will remain so even after their graduation. They represent the institute everywhere they go.

“IIM Shillong is a family, it values each stakeholder’s contribution to the institute equally. As alumni, students play an important role in this because they add value to the institute by fusing their professional experiences and contributing to the growth of the institute. According to Professor Goyal, if students are progressing, IIM Shillong is progressing.

A special cultural evening was organised for the alumni at the Orchid Resort at Mawkasiang where the alumni once again mingled with their batchmates, the faculty and other alumni. All faculty members collaborated to make the event a success.
