CHURACHANDPUR: Churachandpur District Police, in a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), raided an illegal DIC liquor distillery operating at Monglham, MT Geltam and M. Gamngai on July 18.
During the operation, security personnel located the illicit distillery and recovered three locally made 12-bore single-barrel (SBL) guns. They also destroyed approximately 1,550 litres of DIC liquor in the presence of women civil society organisations (CSOs).
The team seized 146 pots, a substantial quantity of yeast cake and yeast powder, along with around 120 bags of fermented rice containing an estimated 46,000 litres of fermented mash used for liquor production.
Police said the seized liquor, fermented rice bags and pots were destroyed at the site in the presence of women CSO representatives. The distillery’s equipment and temporary tents used for the illegal operation were also dismantled and destroyed.
