Imphal, July 23: An international conference on Population Education along with the presentation of the Prof. Dr. R. Subbakrishna Memorial Community Linguist Awards was organised today at Hotel Classic in Imphal. The event was jointly hosted by the Directorate of Regional Indian Languages and Research (DRILR), Manipur International University, and the Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS).
The programme was graced by several dignitaries. Prof. Dr. Chanam Manglem, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, RIMS, attended as the chief guest. Also present were Prof. Dr. Thokchom Robindro, Deputy Director of Education Extension, Central Agricultural University (CAU), and Prof. Dr. Nabakanta Sharma Choudhurimayum, Member of the Manipur State Pollution Control Board. AIMS President Longjam Thonglen Meitei and DRILR Dean Prof. Dr. Thokchom Chandramani also participated as key dignitaries.

During the event, Prof. Dr. R. Subbakrishna Memorial Journalist Award 2025 was conferred on ISTV Senior Reporter Urikhimbam Indraraj, while Prof. Dr. R. Subbakrishna Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jeet Ningombam, Chief Editor of Elite TV. Both awardees received shawls, citations, and cash awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
In addition to these honours, several other individuals were also felicitated with various awards for their notable contributions in different fields, further highlighting the spirit of excellence celebrated during the programme.
