Imphal SBI closed down after 12 employees tested COVID-19 positive

Authority of Manipur government on Thursday announced closure of State Bank of India’s main branch in Imphal for 48 hours after 12 of its employees tested COVID-19 positive.

“It is hereby ordered that the entire office premises of SBI, Imphal Branch, MG Avenue shall be closed for 48 hours with immediate effect,” the order issued by Imphal West district magistrate on Thursday stated.

The order further directed all the primary contacts of the 12 positive employees to report to the district surveillance officer, Imphal West district for necessary contract tracing.
The manager of the bank was also directed to disinfect the entire office premises as per the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) before resuming office.

Meanwhile, 159 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected during the testing of 2,377 samples in the last 24 hours to take the total number of COVID-19 infections of the state to 24,292 on Thursday.

The total infections included 20,798 recovered cases which included 158 patients discharged during the last 24 hours. The total active cases of COVID-19 of the state stands at 3,245.

The recovery rate of the state is 85.61%, as per a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the state government.
