UKHRUL: India entered the Asian Cup Finals for the third time in 20 years after a 2–1 victory over Iran in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 30).

Iran led early with a 19th-minute strike, but India levelled before half-time through Dallalmuon Gangte’s penalty.

A swift counter-attack finished by Gunleiba Wangkheirakpam sealed qualification to the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The win has drawn praise across social media, with many highlighting the symbolic significance of the goals being scored by a Kuki and a Meitei.
