Indian Intelligence Behind ‘Social Media Campaign’ to Divide Naga Tribes: NSCN

Published on

Ukhrul: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has accused Indian intelligence agencies of waging a proxy war and launching a social media campaign to incite division among Naga tribes. According to the NSCN, this strategy involves using fabricated Naga identities to publish provocative articles aimed at sowing discord within the organization and its supporters.

A recent wave of articles, including “Muivah Is a Problem, Not the Solution” and its counter, “Rendering Political Education to Zavisituo Angami,” featured fictitious authors with Naga names, stated NSCN. These posts have gone viral on social media, sparking debates and stirring tribal sentiments. The NSCN claims this tactic is designed to create rifts between the Angamis and Tangkhuls by misusing the names of revered Naga leaders, A.Z. Phizo and Th. Muivah.

The NSCN hitting sharply stated, A.Z. Phizo, celebrated for declaring Naga independence and leading the Naga plebiscite, and Muivah, noted for his revolutionary leadership culminating in the 2015 Framework Agreement with India, are pivotal figures in Naga political history, as the NSCN warns against falling prey to what they describe as divisive propaganda aimed at undermining their movement.

Despite these efforts, the NSCN remains resolute, emphasizing the enduring legacy and contributions of its leaders in advancing Naga political rights and identity. The group urges the Naga community to remain vigilant against such manipulative tactics.
