UKHRUL: IndiGo will shift all its flight operations at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) to the new Terminal 2 (T2) with effect from July 20, marking a major milestone in the phased operationalisation of the airport’s new integrated terminal.
With the transition, all IndiGo arrivals and departures at the Guwahati airport will operate exclusively from Terminal 2.
Inspired by Assam’s rich cultural heritage, the new terminal features a bamboo-themed architectural design that reflects the state’s identity while incorporating contemporary infrastructure and sustainable design principles. The terminal has also received international recognition for its design, positioning it among India’s most modern airport facilities.
Airport authorities have advised passengers travelling on IndiGo flights from July 20 onwards to report directly to Terminal 2 for check-in, security screening and boarding. To facilitate a smooth transition, the airport has put in place clear wayfinding signage, passenger information displays and on-ground assistance.
The airport said the migration of IndiGo’s operations represents another significant step in the rollout of the new terminal and reinforces Guwahati Airport’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and improving the overall passenger experience as the gateway to Northeast India.
Passengers have also been advised to check their flight details with IndiGo before travelling and to arrive at the airport well in advance of their scheduled departure.
