IPFM to Announce New Office Bearers on March 6, Plans Mass Rally on Indigenous Rights

SENAPATI: The Executive committee of the Indigenous People Forum Manipur (IPFM) convened a meeting. After the due deliberation, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:

Resolution No. 1
The Executive Committee resolved to appoint new Office Bearers and Executive Members for the forthcoming tenure. The names of the newly appointed members shall be officially declared on 6th March, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Press Club, Imphal.

Resolution No. 2
The House further resolved that a new bulletin of the organization shall be formally released before the media and the public on the same day, alongside the declaration of the newly appointed Office Bearers and Executive Members.

Resolution No. 3
The Executive Committee resolved to organize a Mass Rally for the protection of Indigenous Rights and to address other important issues concerning Manipur. The rally shall be conducted within the current month in collaboration with various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Imphal Valley.

Resolution No. 4
It was resolved that the Executive Members and Indigenous Peoples shall refrain from associating with the security forces in any activities that infringes the right of indigenous people, ensuring that their conduct remains impartial and aligned with the principles and objectives of the organization.

Resolution No. 5
The House further resolved that all activities undertaken by the Indigenous People’s Forum Manipur (IPFM), both within the State and at the national level, shall be carried out with responsibility, transparency, and proper consultation with well-qualified individuals and respected advisors. This is to ensure that the interests of Indigenous people are safeguarded in a dignified and lawful manner.
