Jan Sunwai Held in Pherzawl Ahead of National Tribal Celebration

PHERZAWL, NOV 14 (DIO): As part of the nationwide Jan Jatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal freedom icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the District Administration of Pherzawl organised a Jan Sunwai at the Adi Sewa Kendra on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Mannaumching, IAS, led the programme by paying floral tribute to Birsa Munda and other tribal freedom fighters.

The event saw active participation from PRI members, self-help groups, youth clubs, Adi Karmayogi cadres and various local institutions. Held as a precursor to the Special Gram Sabha and National Celebration scheduled for November 15, the event focused on district-level development priorities and reviewed the implementation status of tribal-centric schemes including PM-JANMAN, DAJGUA, and the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan.

Deputy Commissioner Mannaumching and Joel G. Haokip Nodal Officer & ADC assessed ongoing projects, issued follow-up directives, and stressed the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination to speed up developmental works in the district.

The event concluded with an appeal for collective effort to ensure effective execution of all welfare schemes aimed at uplifting tribal communities.
