UKHRUL: The District Magistrate of Kangpokpi has imposed a curfew in the Kangpokpi Sub-Division of Kangpokpi District, Manipur, starting from 6:00 PM on April 21 until further notice.
This decision follows reports from the Superintendents of Police of both Kangpokpi and Senapati regarding a significant security threat to the lives and properties of citizens in and around the S. Changoubung and T. Khullen Villages, particularly along the NH-02 Highway.

The curfew order prohibits individuals from leaving their residences, prohibits the assembly of five or more people, and bans the possession of sticks, stones, firearms, sharp weapons, or any potentially dangerous or explosive materials that could disrupt public peace and cause harm to individuals.
Kangpokpi District Magistrate Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, issued this notice under Sub-Section 1 of Section 163 of BNSS, 2023.
However, the curfew does not apply to the operations of courts and tribunals within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Manipur, government agencies involved in maintaining law and order, and essential or emergency services.
