Karam Shyam, Sitting LJP MLA from Langthabal AC Announces joining BJP

While announcing his switching to BJP, Shyam asserted LJP is no more active as Election Commission of India had derecognized the party.

Imphal: Sitting MLA Karam Shyam of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) announced his joining the BJP national party. LJP is one of the partners of the BJP-led coalition government. The sitting LJP MLA Karam Shyam announced his decision to join the BJP today.

“I will formally join BJP on November 11”, announced Shyam during a press conference held at his residence in Imphal today.

He was the cabinet minister of CAF&PD in the BJP-led coalition government until he was dropped by chief minister N Biren Singh when he caused a major reshuffle in his council of ministers last year.

While announcing his switching to BJP, Shyam asserted LJP is no more active as Election Commission of India had derecognized the party.
