KASAR grocery app launched in Ukhrul

2020 has been a year of lockdown with unprecedented curb on movement of people, travel, education and business in towns and cities across the globe. During a period of over 6 months of the pandemic, businesses have taken the hardest hit. However relentless entrepreneurs are inventing as well as reinventing business strategies and redesigning business model that is vastly shifting towards digital platform, in the hope for capitalizing market dividends on small scale to medium to large scale business in Manipur, especially in the hill towns such as Ukhrul.

In that direction of private shops and business moving towards digital platform, Ukhrul town today saw the launch of a new grocery app. The proprietors Mashunngam Kasar and Somung Kasar are calling it KASAR The Hill Store app.

Kasar App Service and Retail (KASAR), at the launch event roped in Tangkhul actress Timmi Rinpam Lunghār as the Chief Guest at 25° North Restaurant, attended by array of well wishers, friends, town officials, business partners with invocation from Thotmathing Kasar, Chaplain cum youth Home evangelist, Hungpung Baptist Church.

KASAR app is a local online store with delivery services based at Ukhrul, Manipur to gather the need of the netizens of the hilly town. Currently, customer can order wide range of groceries, vegetables, essential items from KASAR app for delivery of products right at customers’ doorsteps, with service delivery within 24 hrs of ordering or even less, with best guaranteed customer service.

They will also soon offer frozen food, body care products, home care products, beverages and other local products. KASAR service as of now is limited to Ukhrul town only.

3. Delivery timing?

Two times in a day (No delivery Sunday)

1. From 9AM onwards (orders after 02:00PM of previous day till 08:00AM)

2. From 3PM onwards (orders after 08:00AM till 02:00PM of today)

4. Where are the delivery services available?

Currently only within Ukhrul Town. We shall try our best to reach out to every nook and corner of the Town for deliveries.

5. What are the items available in this grocery app store?

As of now the items available are given below;

  1. Rice
  2. Eggs
  3. Dal
  4. Potatoes
  5. Cooking oil
  6. Salt
  7. Charcoal

Currently we shall start with few necessary items. Later, we shall extend it to a variety of other products.

6. What’s the delivery charge within Ukhrul Town?

Within Ukhrul Town the delivery charge shall be ₹ 50/- only (upto 25Kg, beyond 25Kg there’s an additional charge of ₹ 1/kg).

However for sustainability of our business, orders with a minimum purchase amount of ₹ 400 or more shall only be accepted through the app.

7. How do use the app?

First of all open Google play store.

a. Download and install the app on your phone.

b. Use a working mobile number for signing/login purpose.

c. OTP will be generated and sent to the mobile number.

d. Enter the OTP for verification.

e. Once logged in, the rest is just like any other online shopping app.

8. Future plans

Some of our future plans in this aspect are:

a. There shall be items of frozen foods, body care products, home care products, beverages and lot of local products.

b. Delivery shall be extended to the neighboring villages like Langdang, Shirui, etc.

c. The app shall be made available for iphone users in apple store within two weeks.

d. Like Swiggy/Zomato we shall launch instant pickup and drop service for interested restaurants or food joints.
