Khangshim Youth Club in Tengnoubal District condemns

Tengnoubal: The Khangshim Youth Club (KYC) in a public statement Friday vehemently condemned the merciless thrashing of two Khangshim youths by the escorts of MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh.

KYC in the statement alleged that the two Khanshim youths were “brutally beaten” unprovoked on the night of December 2 while passing along the Khangshim village road.

The escorts of the MLA, the statement alleged, were under heavy influence of alcohol, and that the escorts of MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh not only trashed the two youths but threatened the villagers who came out to witness the incident after hearing the cries and screams of the victims.

KYC further stated that the use of guns and rifles in the incident shocked the villagers and has generated a feeling of insecurity.

“Abuses such as these are unacceptable and shall not be tolerated by any community. Furthermore, the Communal abuses hurled by the drunken escorts while beating up the two innocent victims and threatening the villagers have created deep communal disharmony and have disturbed the peace and tranquillity of the village. The Khangshim Youth Club hopes that such brutality is not repeated in the future to avoid any unwanted incident, and that the victims are duly compensated,” the statement said.
