UKHRUL: Kuki History & Identity Protection Committee (KHIPC) on Thursday condoled the death of Limsei Haokip, a beacon of love, humility, and strength, who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
“As a devoted father and pillar of strength, his legacy continues to inspire and guide his family,” KHIPC stated in its condolence message.
Late Limsei was the son of Late Pu Ondou Haokip, who was a freedom fighter of the Indian freedom movement, who joined the Indian National Army during the 1940s.

“His noble heritage is reflected in the lives of his children, notably Mark Thangkhomang Haokip, a visionary leader of the Kuki community and a courageous human rights activist unjustly detained in Manipur jail since May 2022,” it stated.
Extending its condolences to the bereaved family, particularly Thangkhomang Haokip, his wife, and children, KHIPC prayed that the Almighty would envelop the family with solace and comfort during the time of unimaginable grief.
“Limsei Haokip’s love, compassion, and unwavering spirit shall forever be etched in our collective memory. We stand united with the bereaved family, sharing their sorrow and pain. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace,” it stated.
