KIM, UNC Condemn Arson at K Songlung Village

UKHRUL: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and the United Naga Council (UNC) on Tuesday condemned the arson at Kangchup Songlung (Part-Il) village in Kangpokpi district by Zeliangrong United Front-Kamsom on Monday. 

The two apex bodies held a joint meeting on Tuesday and unequivocally condemned the burning down of households in K Songlung (Part-Il) village on Monday by Zeliangrong United Front-Kamsom group in broad daylight rendering loss of properties and panic to the victims.

KIM and UNC appealed to the general public and all concerned to maintain peace and restrain from any form of violence between the communities. The two apex bodies further cautioned all fellow tribals to refrain from writing/posting unwarranted rumors, false propaganda creating animosity and tension among the communities.

The joint meeting also shared the concerns and solidarity to the victim’s family and underscored to initiate immediate relief and justice for the affected families, a statement read.
