Kohima’s New APMC Daily Market Opens Its Doors to Organic Farmers and Local Artisans

KOHIMA, SEP 12: The Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Kohima under the Nagaland State Agricultural Produce Livelihood & Marketing Board (NSAPLMB) inaugurated a new office and market yard for organic farmers in Kohima on September 12, located at Upper PWD near NSF Martyrs Park and Capital Cultural Hall.

The new market, named “APMC Kohima Daily Market” was inaugurated by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor for Agriculture, alongside APMC Kohima officials.

In his address, Yanthan commended APMC Kohima for its efforts in promoting agriculture in Nagaland, an agrarian state where 70% of the population depends on farming. He assured continued support for the development of agricultural infrastructure in the state.

Kevinourheno Seyie, chairman of APMC Kohima, emphasized that the market aims to provide a platform for organic farmers, boost the local economy, and promote organic farming. The market will offer organic vegetables, various types of meat, and Naga indigenous ornaments and souvenirs.

The event also featured a report by N Jacob Yanthan, MD-cum-CEO of NSAPLMB, and a vote of thanks by Tia Jamir, member secretary of APMC Kohima.
