KSO and CPPKT reach agreement on Thangjing Hills; Withdraws all press releases

Imphal: The Committee on Protection & Preservation of the Historical Rights of Koubru & Thangjing Hill Ranges (CPPKT) and Kuki Student’s Organization (KSO) Henglep Block and Churachandpur reached an agreement on the issue of Thangjing Hills on Monday.

According to a signed agreement made available, the two parties after clearing all misunderstandings resolved to withdraw all press releases in connection with Thangjing Hills.

“The general public has been advised to desist from making unnecessary comments on social media or any other platform on the issue in the interest of peace and harmony,” the note added.

Chief minister N Biren Singh took to his Facebook official handle and said, “An understanding have been reached between Committee on Protection and Preservation of Historical Rights of Koubru and Thangjing Hill Ranges (CPPKT) and Kuki Student’s Organization ( KSO) Henglep Block and Churachandpur on the issue of Thangjing Hills. As an agreement has come through between the parties concerned, I appeal to everyone to not indulge in making hate comments / statements and aggravate the situation”.

The meeting held today at the office chamber of DGP Manipur, P. Doungel, IPS, was represented and signed by three members each from CPPKT and KSO.
