He opines that it is very important for parents to recognize the skills and abilities of their children and nurture them accordingly rather than imposing on them what they desire. He also asked the parents to enhance their financial management and budgeting skills so as to give priority to the education of the children.
He also asked the parents to avoid sending children to local pan shops or outlets to purchase tobacco products and others for them as such frequenting initiates children into taking tobacco products and others in the later part of their lives by referring briefly to Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.

The program also hosted two resource persons to interact with the students’ community. Maijinlakbou Newmai, an advocate under the Delhi Bar Council, had a discourse with the gathering on how education creates awareness of one’s surroundings and empowers people to stand for social justice. He said that the present generation is privileged with fast information technology such as the booming of the internet which the students’ community should explore and benefit from citing various ways to do so.
However, he also warned of misusing and abusing such booming internet facilities which even lead to intellectual disability. Poukenhalakliu Newmai, a research scholar at Nagaland University also impressed the gathering on the important role of education in advancing the way of life as universally desired. She said that the process of learning will be successful only when the students position themselves as ‘Learners’ while exploring knowledge and interacting with people around them.
She said that it will be very important for the students to exercise the spirit of inquiry, observation and practice apprenticeship in any course of study or career they choose. She opines that unlike the bygone days of the community shrouded in secluded tribal society, it is now an age of modern education where the result of research work of many years can be understood within a few minutes of reading and the experience of people and community of hundred years can be understood by reading a book in few days.
She also encouraged the villagers present at the gathering to how ‘Lakhuti Village in Nagaland’ and ‘Madho Patti Village in Uttar Pradesh’ ascended to greatness by embracing education and sustaining it through cooperation. Lakhuti Village has hundreds of officers, doctors and engineers while Madho Patti Village is known as the ‘IAS factory of India”.
