KTL Excel Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul Students Honour the Hands that Shapes

Ukhrul: The students of KTL Excel Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul celebrated Teacher’s Day at the Trinity Chamber -school auditorium on Thursday under the theme, “the hands that shape.”

“Thank you for being a role model and inspiration” echoed the Trinity Chamber as the students of KTL in unison thanked their teachers for their dedication and hard work and for their positive impact and influence in their lives.

Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Kengoo Zuringla attended the celebration as Guest of Honour. Chief Executive Officer of ADC-Ukhrul, David Kashungnao, ZEO of Ukhrul, Thaimei Badan, Executive Engineer of PWD Ukhrul, Garnish Kashung were the special guests.

Kengoo Zuringla extended warm regards and best wishes to all the teachers in Ukhrul District on this auspicious day. She acknowledged the contribution made by teachers in the society and stated that “teachers have the utmost respect for various reasons. No one gained knowledge without the foundation provided by the teachers.” She also narrated her days in school and the struggle she had to endure as a student. She narrated the challenges and strict discipline she maintained in her studies. She encouraged the students to excel in their studies so that they could compete with others and pay back to the society.

David Kashungnao shared his background as a student, then as a teacher and finally as an administrator. He shared his struggling life journey and the influence his teachers have on him. David Kashungnao while paying sincere respect to all the teachers, implored the teachers to take up the responsibility seriously in moulding the students while they are in school. “Respect for teachers is of utmost importance. Because, teachers open the minds of students to numerous possibilities. Teachers encourage students to explore all the possibilities” added David Kashungnao.

Thaimei Badan stated that “teachers must take a pro-active role in shaping the students. Teachers must have that extra zeal to go the extra mile in imparting knowledge.”

Principal of KTL, Yarmi Kashung expressed immense gratitude to the dignitaries for their encouragement to the teachers and the young students through their presence.

Students of KTL Excel Higher Secondary School displayed various items to express their love, respect and appreciation for their teachers.
