The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has appointed senior BJP leader from Tamil Nadu, La Ganesan as the new governor of Manipur.
The press communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s Secretariat) said, “The President has been pleased to appoint Shri La Ganesan, to be the governor of Manipur with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
Ganga Prasad, governor of Sikkim was sworn in as the governor-designate of Manipur at Raj Bhavan on August 12Â in addition to his own duties as governor of Sikkim during the absence of Dr. Najma A. Heptulla.
