Land Demarcation for NH-37 Imphal-Jiribam Double Lane Begins

Widening of the double lane of NH-37 Imphal-Jiribam Road has begun with Noney district administration along with the officials of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) at motion for final land demarcation in Noney area.

The 220 km long double lane project is divided into 7 packages which comes under the purview of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, GoI.

The 7 packages are as follows:

Package 1: Imphal to New Keithelmanbi,

Package 2: New Keithelmanbi to Kotlen

Package 3: Kotlen to Khumji village

Package 4: Khumji to Khongsang

Package 5: Khongsang to Kambiron

Package 6: Kambiron to Nungkao

Package 7: Nungkao to Jiribam.

Out of the 7 packages shown above, the first three packages of Imphal-Khumji village have been awarded work programs to the concern work agencies. Package 4 is in final stages for awarding and Packages 5, 6 &7 are in tendering process.

Meanwhile, the maintenance works along this road stretch has also been undergoing work by three different private companies.

The road stretch from 0-75 Km and 105 -150 km is undertaken by NDS, 75 km -105 Km is undertaken by Continental and from 150 Km-220 (Jiribam) is undertaken by Manipur Steel. According to NHIDCL’s official,once the rainy season is over, the blacktopping work will be started in phase manner.
