The Ministry of Home Affairs in association with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today held a “Regional Conference on Drug Trafficking and National Security” under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Home Affairs & Cooperation – Amit Shah.

It was attended by the Chief Ministers and Chief Secretaries of all northeastern states.

In order to commemorate the event, the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department today incinerated a massive stash of drugs at Bethani Multipurpose Farm in Aizawl.

According to reports, these drugs incorporated of – Heroin (18.374 kgs); Methamphetamine (40.594 kgs); Tramadol (643 grams); Alprazolam (652.760 grams); Codeine based cough syrup (105.65 kgs); Ganja (88.470 kgs); Nitrazepam-NAP-10 (129.540 grams); Pseudoephedrine (657 grams); Lorazepam (2.64 grams).
