Time travels pass the original self understanding of normal life. The ever changing world has opened up new horizons of possibilities to believe in alternative reality. Before we fully become conversant with how fast circulation of our money in the market can determine our economic position, the world is busy talking about cryptocurrency a virtual or digital currency where every single Bitcoin transaction is recorded in a public list called the block-chain. The virtual cryptocurrency can be used in actual payment and that’s the wonder of how post modern business dream can rise up like a phoenix into economic reality.
Ukhrul being a remotely placed small town, do not have access to any international business platform for easier financial transactions and robust banking channels. There is nearly complete absence of knowledge of stock trading (buying and selling of shares in a particular company), Forex trading (global market place for exchanging national currencies), payment gateways (a technology used by merchants to accept debit or credit card purchases from customers) etc. The ordinary folks amongst us do not understand how it functions. Most of us are like late comers long forgotten by civilizations. The bizarre end result is almost certain to bear the brunt of indifference of servitude and humiliation.

Whereas the world is talking about creating alternative universe, governing the internet, alternative global positioning systems, alternative multilateral lending institutions, artificial intelligence, internet of things or 5G, hyper-sonic defence mechanism, technology sharing or joint manufacturing etc. We feel ourselves left out in the cold. Because, we are behind time, in the race of human civilizations.
A simple knowledge of electoral bond scheme of 2018 which the GOI authorized the SBI to issue and encash a new tranche of electoral bonds just before the assembly elections in 5 states, where electoral bonds worth Rs. 1213 crore were sold by the SBI, the amount of bonds sold allowing anonymous donations to political parties is unheard of among our candidates in their election campaigns that could seriously influence on the outcome of election result. It is a process of legalizing corruption from the top-down using the money power like bait that can destroy our society unless we have certain moral principles and understanding of our self identity. Voters in the election bound states are going to the ballot box with no knowledge about the donors backing the various contestants. It has the potential to mesmerize the outcome of the democratic process and destroy the public trust in politics altogether. It is very unfortunate that we can be easily assimilated and marginalized both socially, culturally and politically by the banking mechanism like electoral bond scheme unless we remained vigilant to the market forces.
Our march towards economic self sufficiency largely depends on improvement of human resources, capability approach, selling ideas, encouraging younger generations into business world and no more depending on conventional employment income generation. President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta once said, ‘If you really love your children, get a business, not a job, because when you die your children cannot inherit your job, but they can definitely inherit your business. In fact, if you die on the job, your boss will replace you before your burial. If your family live in the company house, they will kick them out before they can say anything. So when you close from work, don’t go and watch television. Go home and think of a business idea’.
It’s time to think beyond electoral politics. It’s time to re-establish divine communication. It’s time to think there is life beyond Assembly election. Please save your outlandish comments in the name of democratic processes during election. It could create a wedge in between your gut feeling nuances. Lest we forget our ideas of belongingness to one another.
