Ukhrul: Ahead of the ensuing Manipur assembly elections, BJP candidate Preshow MK Shimray of 45-Chingai (ST) assembly constituency held a consultative meeting cum political campaign on Thursday at Halang community hall.

The event was attended by his supporters, well wishers, BJP leaders, party karyakartas, and various morchas.

Speaking at the occasion, Preshow MK Shimray expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome accorded to him. Acknowledging the massive support the villagers had given him in the past, Preshow made a clarion call to the people of Halang village to take a new step and march forward.

“I came here to informed the people that the BJP party has given me the party ticket to represent the area in the ensuing Manipur general assembly elections,” MK Preshow said. The former deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly further added that the party had awarded him the ticket believing that the candidate on whom it had offered the ticket would be a better choice for the party, and can better represents the people.

He then urged to join hands together and strengthen the BJP party in 45-Chingai (ST) AC.

Stressing on the developmental front, he said, “If I am voted back to power by the area people and joins the ruling government, and gets better portfolio, I would bring more than 1000 crores as developmental package for the Chingai constituency,” he said.

As ADC Bill 2021 is one of the most important bill for the Manipur hill people, this Act must be tabled and and translated into action by pressurising the chief minister and council of ministers, he stressed.

Preshow also added that if he is given the mandate of the area by the people, he would pressure Manipur government so that pending Autonomous District Council election is conducted without further delay.
