UKHRUL: Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has expressed profound grief over the brutal killing of civilians on Saturday and assured, on behalf of the Government of Manipur, that the demands made by the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) will be addressed.
“I am profoundly outraged by the barbaric killing of two innocent civilians and the grievous injuries sustained by several others yesterday at TM Kasom village in Ukhrul district. I condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms,” Dikho stated.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that during his visit to Ukhrul along with the Chief Minister, they witnessed the “people’s genuine desire for peace, normalcy, and progress. This calculated brutality is a bitter betrayal of the hopes of every peace-loving citizen.” Dikho added that the incident was an attempt to derail the popular government and assured that those responsible would be booked under the law.

The Government of Manipur, while extending its condolences, has assured that the case will be immediately handed over to the NIA. Ex gratia will be provided to the next of kin of the deceased, along with a compassionate appointment for a family member. Those injured in the incident will receive all necessary medical assistance, and compensation will be provided for damaged vehicles and property, as applicable.
