SENAPATI: The 5th Edition of Lt Col Robert TA (Late) Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Assam Rifles is being held at the Astro Turf Ground, Senapati, Manipur, from February 5 to 23. 

“The tournament serves as a fitting tribute to the gallant officer while promoting sportsmanship, youth participation and community engagement in the region,” Assam Rifles stated.

The third day of the tournament witnessed four exciting league matches from Group B Group D and Group C, drawing large crowds and enthusiastic support from football fans.

In the first match of group B, Hills Academy R Muvanlai FC dominated proceedings to register an emphatic 4–1 victory over Hills Academy with R Veydu scored a hatrick.

In the second match between Kom United FC and Kuki Rising FA of Group D, Kom United FC displayed strong teamwork and skill to secure a 3–0 win.

The third match of the day featured Sardar Hills FA against Senapati FC of Group C where Senapati FC won with a scoreline of 1-0.

The fourth match of the day featured Sardar Hills R against Mayangkhang FC of Group C. Mayangkhang FC displayed strong teamwork and skill to secure a 3-0 win.

“With competitive matches underway, the tournament has set a high standard of play, reflecting Assam Rifles continued commitment to fostering youth development, unity and sporting excellence through football,” the Assam Rifles added.
