Chandel: Lui-Ngai-Ni 2023, the seed sowing festival of the Nagas in Manipur will be celebrated at Kapaam village in Chandel district on February 15.

2023 Lui-Ngai-Ni is organised by the State Level Organising Committee under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC). The festival takes place in February and is celebrated to mark the beginning of the new agricultural season.

The festival is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm, with traditional dances, music, and feasting. The Naga people offer prayers to their ancestors and the gods for a bountiful harvest and a successful agricultural season.

Lui-Ngai-Ni is an important part of the Manipur Naga cultural heritage, and the festival helps to preserve and promote the community’s customs, traditions, and beliefs. It is a time for families to come together and for the younger generation to learn about their cultural heritage.
