UKHRUL: As part of the 3rd phase of poppy destruction drive, a combined team led by SDPO Ukhrul, comprising of Ukhrul District Police, 6MR, Forest Department and 18 AR conducted poppy destruction drive at Sihai Hill Range on Saturday. The team destroyed 70 acres of illegal poppy plants and burnt 4 huts during the operation.
No cultivator was found during the destruction drive. As such, no arrest was made. The team seized some poppy pods for further reference and registration of an FIR case.
