IMPHAL: India B (Manipur) lifted the coveted 15th Manipur Polo International title on Saturday, defeating Colombia 8–5 in a thrilling final at the historic Mapal Kangjeibung.
The prestigious tournament, held from November 22 to 29, 2025, was one of the key highlights of the Manipur Sangai Festival 2025. The final match drew an enthusiastic crowd as the home team delivered a commanding performance to secure the championship trophy.

Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, graced the closing ceremony of the15th Manipur Polo International.
The Governor, accompanied by the First Lady, Jyoti Grover Bhalla, witnessed the thrilling final match of the men’s international polo event between India B (Manipur) and Colombia.
The Governor formally opened the final match by throwing in the first polo ball, with both teams already assembled in the ground for the start of the match.
During the closing ceremony, the Governor also released the souvenir of the 15th Manipur Polo International 2025.
The participation of international teams, including the United States, Colombia, has added to the significance of the tournament.
The matches also reflected Manipur’s long equestrian tradition and its recognised place as the birthplace of modern polo.
Following the match, Governor and the First Lady distributed prizes to the winners and participants, appreciating their skill, sportsmanship, and dedication. Governor then formally declared the tournaments closed.

This year, the winning team received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, while the runner-up was rewarded Rs 1.5 lakh.
The 15th Manipur Polo International returns after a two-year pause, revived with renewed purpose and energy under the Governor’s leadership. President of the Manipur Pony Society, along with other dignitaries and members of the public, witnessed the match.
