Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh recovered from COVID-19 as his latest test results returned negative for the virus on Monday.
Mention may be made here that the chief minister was tested positive for COVID-19 when his swab sample was subjected to testing for the virus on November 15. Since then he was under home isolation at his official residence in Imphal.
His latest swab sample was tested at the Virus Research and Diagnosis Laboratory (VRDL) of JNIMS hospital on Monday. An RT-PCR test report of the VRDL showed the chief minister as tested negative for the novel coronavirus, official sources said.
Biren Singh also announced his recovery from COVID-19 on Twitter while uploading the test report and thanked the doctors who treated him as well those who prayed for his health.
“With your love and prayers, I have finally recovered & tested negative for COVID-19. I thank my doctors for looking after me well in the last two weeks,” he tweeted. The chief minister added, “Make no mistake, the danger is still out there, let’s follow the advice of doctors to keep ourselves safe from coronavirus”.
