The ambush occurred earlier today as the security team was heading to Jiribam ahead of the chief minister’s scheduled visit to the district for security measures.
The chief minister condemned the attack and said that his government took the ambush seriously as it amounted to attacking the state government and the chief minister of the state.
“Stringent steps would be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he asserted, while stating that the government has been acting with restraint while dealing with the prevailing conflict considering that it was between the ethnic communities and will one day come to an understanding.
