Informing the submission of the memorandum, MPCC spokesperson O Joy Singh said that a copy of the affidavit submitted by additional SP of NAB, Th Brinda to the High Court of Manipur in connection with the drug seizure case was also attached in the memorandum to the Governor.
“Biren should step down as chief minister. If not, the Governor should
remove him as chief minister,” Joy told reporters.

He added that, in the memorandum, the Congress also demanded a CBI probe into the case while explaining that there is no confidence of doing justice in the case under the present government.

Joy said that, as the chief minister, his wife, his close aide and some top officers of the state Police department were alleged of favouring the accused of the drug seizure case, the Governor should intervene.
