Manipur COVID-19 cases: 3 each from Imphal West and Imphal East, one each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul

Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally surged to 29,423 as eight more fresh cases were added to the tally on Sunday.

The infection tally included 28,988 recoveries including seven patients who were discharged upon recovering from the viral disease on Sunday, the state health department said in its daily update report.
The state has currently 61 active cases. The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.52%, it added.

As there was no report of death due to the corona virus disease during the past 24 hours, the fatality tally remained at 374, as per the Health department.

The eight fresh cases were reported during testing of 1,388 samples in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of samples so far tested for COVID-19 in the state to 5,80,265.

All the fresh cases were from the general populace and among them three each were from Imphal West and Imphal East while one each was from Churachandpur and Ukhrul district, it added.

Meanwhile, the total number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state increased to 87,641 as 901 more people received the vaccine on Sunday. Those who received the vaccine included 31,694 healthcare workers, the department said.
